Spring Has Arrived In NYC

Easter weekend was phenomenal. The weather was incredible and it was just amazing to see all the tulips blooming. Spring is showing off in New York City this year! I can’t help but notice so many different colored tulips every time I step outside. There is something so unique about this season. It is full of hope and new beginnings as evidenced by the glowing tulips. I feel nature is a reminder of how capable we are as humans to change our ways of thinking and overall life for the best. After all, we are part of nature too.

The weather although a bit wet on the weekends has been enjoyable for the most part. It’s nice seeing the children playing and engaging in their Easter egg hunts.  Once you’re hibernated because of the winter to come out into the streets and experience nice weather, it’s so much needed for the soul and the skin. Hello Vitamin D! Easter Sunday was so beautiful. My sister and I went to church and then had a nice brunch at a local diner. It’s been a while since we’ve been at a diner so that was a pretty good treat! We had the most amazing waffles and of course super delicious. It’s always nice catching up with my sister and the weather was just perfect.

I am looking forward to more outdoor activities which are much needed for mental health. Something as simple as just walking outside for a breath of fresh air. These are a few pointers to help you relax and take in your daily walk this spring (this is what I do, lol):

1. Take a new path for a change of perspective. It’s like viewing your daily routine from a different angle.
2. Try a new coffee shop or sandwich spot. I find trying new drinks and foods exciting.
3. Sit down by a bench or grass in the park and read a new book. Let your lungs fill with the fresh breeze and unwind.
4. Turn off your devices (after you read this blog post of course :-)) And look outside a window and admire the people going by, smile, and say hello.
5. Stay hydrated always with water or perhaps you could try a new refreshing drink. I just started to drink organic hibiscus tea in the mornings by Traditional Medicinals and it’s perfect for spring!
